Delete your data
TRUE OBD · Data deletion · Last updated 6 June 2026
TRUE OBD is local-first, so most of your data never leaves your device and you can remove it yourself in seconds. This page explains how, and lets you request deletion of your account and anything held on our side.
Easiest: delete everything inside the app
TRUE OBD has a one-tap "delete everything" that needs no email and no waiting — it wipes your Google Drive backup, deletes your account, and clears all on-device data in one go:
- Open TRUE OBD and go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the warning, then confirm both prompts.
That permanently deletes your Google Drive backup, deletes your account (you'll be treated as a brand-new user if you ever sign in again), and clears all data on this device. The app then returns to its first screen. This cannot be undone.
Or remove things one at a time
Prefer to do it piece by piece? You can:
- On-device data: uninstall TRUE OBD, or go to your phone's Settings → Apps → TRUE OBD → Storage → Clear data.
- Google Drive backup: in the app, Settings → Cloud backup → Disconnect Drive; or on the web at drive.google.com → Settings (gear) → Manage apps → TRUE OBD → Options → Delete hidden app data. (Backups live in a private folder inside your own Drive — we can't see or touch them.)
What we keep on our side (almost nothing)
There is no TRUE OBD server that stores your vehicle or trip data. AI summary requests are processed and then deleted (never retained). The only account data is what Google Sign-In creates if you signed in: your account identifier and email in Firebase Authentication, plus anonymous crash/usage statistics. The in-app "Delete account" above removes these for you.
Can't use the app? Request deletion here
If you can no longer open the app (for example you uninstalled it before deleting your account), send a request below and we'll delete your Firebase Authentication account and any associated server-side data within 30 days, and confirm by email.
